Call for applications - "Head" of small company
navreme is a network of experts dedicated to research, training and evaluation. Navreme Vienna is one of the nodes of the navreme network; the headquarters are in Prague. This request for application refers to the position of head of the Vienna navreme location.
Proposed position
• Head of the navreme Wissensentwicklung GmbH, Vienna - one of the 4 nodes of the navreme knowledge development network (see navreme.net) with the following responsibilities:
o management of the company situated in Vienna including the supervision of running projects
o business development: acquisition of new clients and new projects, by responding to RFP and also actively exploring the market for opportunities
o communication with other nodes of the navreme network, cooperation on searching for mutual projects, activities and synergies
o Formal responsibility (“Geschäftsführung”) an option but not a must, mid term ownership of the navreme GmbH an option
Available offering
• Well-established brand name "navreme"
• Impressive number of credentials to be used in future acquisition - no starting from scratch
• Existing network (navreme knowledge development) with 4 nodes, 1 virtual campus in SecondLife and potential to grow in terms of covered geographical and/or thematic areas
• Long list of established experts willing to co-operate in projects and provide support without red tape
• Current projects including activities in the area of
• Higher education (INTER-Alfa Network)
• Research oriented IT (MobiSem)
• Positive cash flow from above projects can be used in the next 4-6 months to cover basic cost
• Business model has proved to be financially sustainable
• Existing flexible and cost efficient set-up and infrastructure, established business principles and procedures, multicultural and open culture of the company
• No fixed employees to be paid but project members / support available
• Very well supported, soft start for a new executive (internship in major network node incl. coaching in terms of business running within navreme network as well in terms of subject areas covered)
• Can be tailored to be combined with sponsored “New entrepreneur programmes” to soften the start (for candidates in a currently employed position)
Expectations and requirements towards the incoming CEO
• Commitment and entrepreneurial spirit: creativity, can-do-mentality, willingness to take risks, set out towards business ownership (mid term)
• Experience and knowledge in at least 1 of the 2 main areas of expertise of navreme knowledge development network
• University degree is a must, PhD is an asset
• Established network in the relevant communities
• Ability and willingness to engage in acquisition activities
• Language and communication skills: excellent English plus one good and one basic language knowledge in either Slavic or roman language
• Interest in extensive business travelling, searching for new possibilities, finding new clients and partners
• Personal investment: ability to invest a significant part of his/her time, starting in early 2010
• Location Vienna is an asset but not a must
